Hey guys, here's my latest edition. It's a 1925 Small cent. Now remember the hype? I was wrong. I picked it up anyway because the price was still right, but not a steal like I said it was before. My memorys slipping a bit since the last time I saw it! Just to give you guys an idea... This is the 09 S VDB of the set
Yes it is. I can't afford one problem free, These scratches kill it, But it is significantly better then my current VG-F ...
Nice looking coin, but to an extent I disagree about it being the "'09 S VDB''. I still don't really understand it being the '25 has a mintage of 1,000,622 and the '23 having 1,019,022, the 23 is more expensive. So like I said to an extent the '23 is more rare, price-wise. But yours come a very close second. Cheers!
Very nice coin snaz. Is the 1925 the key in the set? I was doing some research into it before and I was under the impression that the 1923 was slightly more valuable (although had a higher mintage)...am I wrong or are they both about equal?
Fair enough. I have just become interested in this set so I'm trying to learn about it. I would like to put one together at some point.
Its a pretty easy set to get. All is relativly cheap unless you want to go in UNC-BU. Hardest one to get would be '55 NSF, but I just nocked it off the list. Sorry Snaz. I kinda took control of your thread.
Yeah, I don't think it would be that hard. I have been interested in this set for about a year now and I really had my interested sparked last Christmas when I won a contest here that included a set of Canadian Cents. I think I'm going to work on that as a starter set and upgrade as I go along.
Well, the Verdi isn't the problem on this one, it's all the scratches.. And I use Coincare. Not Verdi-gone. Sure, The 25 is more popular though IMO. But yes, the 23 does have a lower mintage. That's awesome I can't wait for you to start your set! Now this one byrd... this one I disagree with. Violin, harp and guitar strings, all the 65 variety's, the 85 variety's, all the plated (test issue guys after 2000), and the shoulder strap no shoulder strap can be fairly difficult to get. My Circ set is still missing 2 coins and I've been working on it for 12 years. My unc set is another story... And no worries about taking over the thread, I haven't logged on for some time so I was hoping someone would.
Thanks to the Christmas contest held here last winter...I sort of already have. I won a wonderful starter set that I am going to work towards upgrading. With school, I haven't had a lot of free time to search for coins...but I definitely plan to complete this set. I haven't taken any pictures of my own...but here are the photos from the contest of the Canadian cents I won: I think it's a nice starter.
I guess I do agree with you on the dificulty level but if you knock off the '55 NSF:rolling:, it makes it a lot easier. Besides I really don't know anything after '96 since I only decided to collect the coppers XF-UNC(the keys are XF-AU). It makes me feel better now that I have your blessings!
