Hello, I picked this nickel up at a flea market and noticed something odd about it's chin area. Under magnification noticed it seemed to have backward letters and chin. I've since looked at other nickels I have which also show this but not as strong as on this coin (all the nickels I've seen exhibiting this are San Fransico mints, which I found to be odd). The letters are from the reverse of the coin (E. Pluribus) and also has part of the buffalo above date. I guess this really isn't that unusual for the series but still a fun find.
That is a nice one. We do see a "lettered chin" as it is sometimes called but the bison's leg showing is not common. Nice find, Bill
