I have a 1925-S which is DDO, but it also looks to be S/S. Would this carry two different variety attributes or just DDO. Pics attached, but won't have microscope for a couple of weeks, so please forgive the quality. Thanks. image.jpg image.jpg

I would classify it as "MD". Looks flat and shelf-like to me.

    It's not a DDO. It's MD.

And the 's' as well? Are not the mint marks struck at a different time?

    Yes the S as well.
Mintmarks were added to the die after the die was hubbed. It's during the hubbing when DDO's and DDR's happen.

Thank you for the response/education. As I understand it, any flat doubling is MD and rounded doubling would be true DD. Correct?

The MM's were struck (for older die production) into the actual die at a different time than the rest of the die but the completed die strikes the planchet producing a complete coin at the same time. ( or else I don't know what I'm talking about and disreguard when someone with real knowledge rips into me:))
