This coin is in my primary collection, my DANSCO. I have all but the very difficult 4 or 5. I found them in circulation when I was very young. My dilemma is - I would like to upgrade some of them but they are part of my life. I can't make myself take this one out and put in a high grade, even though it would cost very little to do that. There are many in the same situation. I could easily upgrade, but, at 77, I can't make myself do it.
I like your opening statement, "I found this one in my collections today." It cracked me up. A lamination that's nice looking and you found it. No telling what I might find in my hoard.
My LWC set is sitting just as it was when LWC's were no longer plentiful in circulation. I opened the album today and started looking at them close. I have more laminations. Here is one on a 37D.
Another one in that LWC set is a 1955 P with a lamination starting on Lincolns head and several die chips and die cracks on the reverse. Perhaps I should convert that album to an album of anomalies . I sure do have plenty.
I've decided to close the set and not upgrade. The entire album is "as found". There are some in there that are not so good, but, I found them and it will just have to be. I was very lucky to start collecting when the LWC was plentiful.
