Hello this is thepennyman I just purchased a 1923 Speelman White cogwheel silver certificate for $26 it is about EF-40. What is it worth? Thank You :smile
They call it a cogwheel because on the front where the seal is it looks like a wheel. But I dont know where the seller got the "cog" part from. Thanks for replying :smile
No offense, but if you don't know what it's worth, how did you know if what you paid is reasonable or not? How would you like to buy some beach property in the Sahara desert? Chris
I did know that it was worth more than the $26 I paid for it. But I do not know exactly what it is worth.
A 1923 $1 Silver Certificate (Speelman-White) Fr.237 in EF40 for $26 is a really good deal.. I have not heard the term cogwheel before as a description.
I don't know why they call it "cogwheel". It doesn't even look like one. I usually hear it called "Scalloped Seal" This medal, however, looks like a cogwheel: http://www.afpc.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/web/070515-F-8175W-019.jpg
