I posted here because I would like to find the value but more importantly I would like to learn about VAMS and have a question on this. So when I bought this it said MS 63 and vam 3 on it. I still have a looooong way to go with getting grading right but it seems a little easier to research the vams. I looked up this vam# and I am not really sure that it is a vam. I was looking at it with my Carson 10x and would like your opinion as to if this is a vam3 or not. Please way in on the grade as well if you could. Even if it's not a vam or an ms63, the price I purchased this coin for is acceptable for a good learning opportunity. Thanks. IMG_2893.JPG IMG_2894.JPG IMG_2886.JPG IMG_2889.JPG IMG_2890.JPG

I took a look at that before I posted and am having a difficult time seeing it. That's why I posted the up close of those areas that pcgs coin facts show for the vam3.

No idea. It was on the holder like that from the person I purchase it from. Local coin club auction.

Can you get a better shot of the rays around the N & E of ONE ?

The doubling should be quite clear in these images - they're more than good enough. I'm not seeing it.

As for grade, I'm not seeing why it wouldn't grade at least MS63 or even MS64.

Thanks for all the help guys! From the pics on the pcgs sight you linked, every one of the vams they showed were very distinguished and I would have no problem spotting them myself. I didn't know if there was anything else I should be looking for. Thanks again for your help. It also looks from the population numbers that it would be better if I did not send it in to get spanned based on the website price. What are your thoughts on that?

It would have to grade at least MS65 to be worth grading and I can't see it grading that high.
