One of the guys I take to work in the morning won this this morning at a convenience store along with ten dollars cash.

It has some clear tape residue on it, and it has a white chalkie surface. I am guessing the white is from being cleaned.

The back of it has a dent on the outer edge. I looked at the pcgs website and the lowest price for the 23's is 15 dollars.

I don't know if this is p or s or where it was minted at. There is a small symbol below the neck of liberty, but I don't know what it means.
It doesn't look like a letter from what I can tell.

Thanks for any information you guys have. I was going to offer him 15 dollars for it unless you guys think its not worth it. He doesn't collect coins, but he knew I always talk about collecting coins and he figured he would try to win one of those for the heck of it.

The 1923 Peace dollar is considered a common date, $15 might be kinda high, but he is a friend :) Melt value is just over $9.00.

Dabalzak, the mint mark is on the reverse below the word "ONE". I don't think there is a mint mark on that coin. The thing under the neck is, I beleive, Anthony De Francisi, the designer's intials.

i see those peace dollars going for about $12 at the flea market where i buy coins. i would give him $15 because the price of silver is rising and it will probaly be worth $15 in a couple years. anyway, he is your friend.

Thanks guys. I told him I would offer him 10 dollars as is until I found out what you guys said. He said. naaa. I'll just keep it. I was kinda glad. Hopefully he will become another collector with this one to start off his collection. I'll tell him tomorrow what you all said. Thanks a bunch.
