See. I am getting sucked into the Commemorative coins... What do you think this one is worth? I picked it up for $40. DSCN1508.jpg DSCN1507.jpg

I guess $40 was fair enough, but I would advise caution regarding buying many EF/AU classic commems that look glossy since the classic commem market has been depressed for nearly two decades and lightly circulated pieces can be dreadfully difficult to sell without nearly giving them away.

Also a caution on the Monroe Doctrine commems - there were larger numbers minted than were sold and the remainder were dumped into circulation. So it is very possible the coin has some circulation. I have to admit I don't pay more than melt for common circulated commemoratives. I have several now, the Monroe, the Sesqui, St. Mtns etc that I paid melt for.

Thank you for the good advice. Don't suppose you have any Commemoratives you would sell for melt? I am trying to expand my collection, and with the comms I am not obsessed with grade. I just really enjoy the coins.
