I have just found a 1923 Merc Dime. It does not appear to have a Mint Mark on the back. It was given to me as "change". What would this be worth today. The coin is in pretty good shape. All features are visable.
Howdy waltman - Welcome to the Froum !! The value of a coin is largely dependant on the condition of the coin. If you can post pics of the coin, both sides, we can probably help you

It is not worth the PCGS price guide "value" in any grade. Please DO NOT use that price guide for any purpose other than humor since it SERIOUSLY overvalues MANY, if not all, coins! If you absolutely need an online price guide, I find this one to be a pretty good one. It isn't perfect, but it is usually pretty close in my experience.
to CoinTalk waltman. The Troll is absolutely right about value guides. The one he linked to is primarily based on completed auction prices, which is the absolutely most accurate basis. Of course, if you are not fully familiar with grading standards, the Heritage prices won't mean much to you. That gets us back to requesting pictures. BTW, in case you thought the lack of a mint mark was something special, Philadelphia Mint products were not mintmarked until fairly recent years (except for the WW II silver nickles).
