    Is this really what they say it is? The number verifies. Although I cannot see all of the authenticators, I see nothing to tell me the coin is fake. It appears likely an authentic die pair #3. At least the number checks out with PCGS

    However;
    Did they really grade it with that scratch on the reverse?
    Is that a "D" I see under the date?

    To me there's lots of red flags.
    1. The mintmark appears to be there.
    2. I don't think that coin is VG10.
    3. The reverse scratches (understatement) appear to be too much to allow the coin to be graded.

    For the more expensive coins a good philosophy is to look for reasons NOT to buy.
    This one's got too many to ignore.

    This is the first coin I've even seen that makes me think that the holder has been tampered with.

    FWIW, My guess would have been VG-8 as a grade, but I think it is close. Those 1922-'s are rough to grade.

    It's a terrible coin IMO. It is something I would pass on myself

    How did that grade with the huge PMD scratch on the reverse? That's the real question.

    WOW I can clearly see a mintmark and that coin is all beaten up.
    Way to go PCGS.

    I can't tell if its a D, or just a spot on the coin. They are ugly...
