Not knowing much about coins, (newby), can someone tell me something about this penny? There is no D. I know that some of them are worth something, and some are not? Thanks for any help!

Do you know the history of coin? Is a new buy?

IMO, if it's real, it's at best a weak D.

My fiance has had it for years. I took it out of the holder to get better pics. Not a new buy. The holder read 1922 plain D.

Is a no D the same as a weak D? Sorry for my ignorance. Thank you for your help.

Sorry, I meant it reads 1922 plain penny.

There are 1922 D, 1922 weak D and 1922 no D. Yours, if genuine, looks (to me) to have something where the mint mark belongs, making it a weak D. Again, if genuine.

80 - 90% real 1922 plain but could be cleaned.
1 of Top Grading Service would be best way to get value.
As is a fair market price is value $

Something does not look right here. Everything I check looks like die pair #1, but there is no crack at the "O". See http://lincolncentresource.com/1922Ddievarieties.html
But is it is anything, it is most likely a weak "D". FWIW, to be considered a no"D", there should be nothing detected at 10X power magnification.

    I favor it being a weak D.

Thank you all for your help. I had this listed on ebay, but have now taken it off because I cannot be sure it is a plain penny and I don't want to give any false information. I will keep trying to get a definite on it. Thanks again!

IMO, having it authenticated, graded and attributed would go a long way in your success in selling it.
