I have acquired a 1922 Peace dollar that has several "Issues". It seems to have the "Extra Hair" mark of a VAM 2C and the coin has lots of doubling on the profile, date, and denomination. I can't seem to find any prices listed for the VAM but I see that PCGS has very few in its population. Anyone have an opinion on value/grade of this coin?

Here's a link to the image.

I'd say 62 for a grade - not a clue what the VAM designation would do to the value.

    Very nice! I'd guess MS62/63.
It looks like a late die state of the VAM 2C. Here are some recent sales figures....
    PCGS MS61 $246 Jan 2006
    PCGS MS61 $126 Feb 2006
    ANACS AU58 $81 Apr 2006

Once slabbed by PCGS, I would think your coin is worth $250-300. If it made MS63, it could be $300+.

Well, looks like PCGS gave it a MS63.

    Population is 1 MS64, 3 MS63

    Happy :) happy
