I have this 1922 Peace that has a mark right in her tiara. At first I that it was PM damage but I don't see a beginning or an end to the damaged area. I then thought it might be a VAM but from my limited understanding the blob would have to be above the metal and not below. That leaves strike through? I have uploaded pictures to the gallery and I even rotated the reverse thinking it would help solve this issue.

    Any ideas?

    I gotta say damage.

    Thanks,

Did you notice how the rays to the right of the area are flattened? Is it safe to assume that if this was a strike through there should not be any other disturbances near the area. My first assumption was damage but the damaged area just looked to clean.

It's the rays on the right being flattened that make me think damage. That and the fact that the ray to the left of the E is flattened so deeply.
