I know the grade...well what the grading company says it is.:p
The Obverse has a noticeable slap to the face.

I don't necessarily agree with the grade.
    MS63 is a bit generous.

That is a generous grade but it looks like a normal 1922 strike to me.

Agreed, I'm more interested in the label :D
But looking at the weak reverse...that adds a little more interest to the coin.

Peace Dollars in general are known for having weak strikes due to the design of the coin itself.

Those claw marks....I posted a coin here with several of those on the obverse, face and outside the face. Very similar marks. I was told mine was a fake. Oddly, if mine is a fake, it was done 50 plus years ago, because the coin had been in a vault that long. One day I may take it to a dealer to verify that. If it is real, I may send it off for grading.

    The photos are bad. I took these a week ago. 1921d obverse.JPG 1921d reverse.JPG

Thanks. It’s a common date Morgan. I don’t see anything that stands out as it’s a fake. However, being common and with those circulation marks it would be a waste of money to certify it. You could buy one in MS, with less marks, for less than the cost of the grading fees.

See those wrinkles? The die is just shot to hell.

Oh I know. I posted it here because I was asking if those odd repeating marks were a strike through of some sort/or serious die deterioration?

I used the macro setting, yes. It was not taking a clear photo at all otherwise. I may purchase another camera, I don't think they are very expensive.

I would imagine that a simple coolpix. (or newer model would work fine. Then transfer the photos to your laptop thru an SD card.
It should get you descent photos.

I only have my cell phone. I get decent pictures but it took some practice.
