Any expert on this coin? As far as I can tell most genuine coins have clash mark near the tie, there are 2 lots (2330, 2333) that were not sold at Heritage FUN auction, both of those lots doesn't have clash marks, but they are both certified by PCGS or NGC. Genuine coins without clash marks are supposed to have a mark inside the star, I don't see any mark on them, is it possible those lots are fake? There are 3 other Grant with star lots that were sold and all of them have clash marks.

It stands to reason that some coins were minted before the dies clashed so not all coins minted from those dies would have the clash mark below Grant's chin. According to Swiatek, there were two reverse dies used on the Grant With Star. Read up on what markers to look for to authenticate these coins .

pcgs and ngc have many flaws but i dont think they would slel counterfeit coins in their holders nor do i think heritage will knowingly sell counterfeit coins. they are real pal if they didnt sell it coz of the price :)
