I received this coin in change today, it looks like it might be a 1922 D wheat. I don't know much about pennies so you're help is greatly appreciated. First of all I was wondering if it was a 1922 D at all... Second, I was wondering what the condition might be, I know it is pretty poor, no more then a G4 probably. And lastly, What kind of value it might have, I've been confused about all the NO D, WEAK D, WEAK REV., STRONG REV., ext. And the pictures are dark because the coin is pretty dark itself. Thank you! -Kyle
I can't tell by your images, but there were no Philadelphia minted 1922 Lincoln cents. All coins were produced at the Denver mint. The problem is that when a die became damaged in some way, a mint employee over polished the obverse die causing the D mint mark to go away. There are two reverse dies used with this obverse die, the weak reverse and the strong reverse.
Wow.. that date could be just about anything. Try messing with the settings on your camera, or use more light, or even lighten 'em up in a photo editing package. Still, I doubt if it will help much.
