  1. 1922 $20 Gold Certificate in VF Condition. What would you say a reasonable value for this note would be? Just looking for a range or some guidance.

Couple hundred and change perhaps, a quality scan/pic would help...

The Friedberg-written Redbook on U.S. Currency (A Guide Book of United States Paper Money, 3rd ed., 2010) lists a Fr. 1187 in VF condition as $300. I imagine that price would very wildly depending on what the actual note looked like (eye appeal, wrinkles, folds, etc.).

I would say a good range is somewhere in the $200-350. Again a lot has to do with paper quality, smudging, tears, etc. If I were in the market for this type of note, I would probably go as far as to buying a slabbed example with nice paper quality.

  6. I decide to pass. It was a PCGS 30PPG.

What made you change your mind? Seems like a very acceptable grade. Was it priced too ambitiously?

  8. Wasn't the best picture to examine. The price might have been good but it was borderline to me. I have made a couple bads calls so decided better safe than sorry.
