This is my 1921 peace Dollar and was wondering if any of you cared to grade? And was it a good deal at $150.00?
AU details, harshly cleaned, I'm afraid. I'm seeing lots of parallel scratches in the fields AND on the devices.
I'm AU details as well. Though I don't think you did too bad at 150. Carry it around as a pocket piece for a few months and make it an honest XF.
AU details , I like Kirkuleez's idea of carrying it around to make an honest EF out of it . Just wondering if those cleaning lines are as bad in hand as in the scan ? If that's the case I'd just leave it .
This scanner picks up a lot more than my eyes do but you are all correct. It was cleaned at some point but does not look bad in hand or in the album. And I'm grateful and happy that most of you gave it an AU. NO, no pocket piece. I can't afford another, at least not right now. My luck I would forget about, wash it, dry it....wait a minute, if I left it in the dryer long enough maybe I could pawn it off as struck through grease. LOL>
Don't worry, that one on the obverse is a scratch on the scanner glass. You would not believe what I scan on it.
AU and definite details slab. Unfortunately the coin looks partially whizzed with those minute scratches, JMO. As far as the price goes, I'd say it's a live and learn amount.
Ah, Tommy, she's scratched all over. Does she cartwheel any? If she does the dance, so to speak, she's OK in my book, and a lock at a condition AU53 (...AU50 for the money, as she is a battered woman).
Well, I certainly appreciate all of the input. No, no cartwheel effect, just soft look. I'll be looking for an upgrade on this in the near future, and thank you all.
