I found an ad on craiglist just now by a guy that is advertising UNC 1921 Morgans for $21.55 each, should I buy everyone that he's got?

Take a magnet and scale with you.

PS. And, whatever you do, don't let this person come to your house.

I don't have a scale, but I do have a nice powerful magnet.
And I was planning on meeting in the parking lot of a large/busy plaza.

Should I not consider it since I don't have a scale?

I personally would do it. If it doesnt look like an obvious fake and it passes the magnet test and maybe do a ping test, then its worth the risk

Thats what i was thinking of doing. I can't imagine the sound of silver clinking is easy to fake. But I'm sure if I ask around I can find some one who has a halfway decent scale I can borrow.

Or meet at a school science lab and ask them to weigh them, or take a ruler, a pencil and an authentic silver dollar and just do a balance test. I get a communication from NGC about weekly trends in coins. I noticed a 1921 Morgan MS-63 lost 23% in value in a month, while an MS-63 Proof-like Surface of the same date gained 50% in value. Coins - a great investment!

$21.55 is an odd number, dude could be looking to rob you.

Take the precautions mentioned above, meet at a place of your choosing, meet near the entrance to the large store where there will be others, try to meet in daylight, depending on how much money you bring, have someone else hold it for you inside the store, and wait 10-15 minutes before leaving by another way than when you came. These are just suggestions if you do decide to make the purchase.

Sad that it comes to this , but still better to be safe than sorry . A small .38 couldn't hurt either.

A shootout at a crowded store entrance might be a bad idea.

I recommend meeting at a bank or the post office. The post office may even weigh it for you if they know you and are not too buisy. Good luck :)
