Can we look at this coin again? ... better pics help, and I know I could do better than these, but ... all on reverse, the cracks and fault lines that seem to go the same direction as the color-- does the poorly mixed metal make the whole thing unstable? Also, the thin straight East-West line toward the top? Is that PMD? Thanks. View attachment 1132446
As much as I love early Woodies, this one was worked hard and put away wet. The line is a scratch. Damage. Could still fill an album hole. Or start a new collector in the hobby
Very nice koin. Am thinking is adequately stable. I don't see the top line as PMD. Does not seem to be a washer koin to me. You ever decide you wanna get rid of it, will fit in several different of my Lincolns sets. Tonkawa Bill … Love errors, had to include a few awa Bill
Agreed that you shouldn't make offers to sell or buy here and I personally question the photos of what you call "errors." Have you had them authenticated? Would like to see the slab if you have. Maybe @paddyman98 could opine.
@adelaide888 it appears you have three things going on with your coin. Improper mixed alloy, small lamination, and circulation wear and tear. I like it enough that I'd keep it as an oddity.
Coins with improperly mixed metals do seem to be more prone to laminations, just from my personal observations. Not sure if that is causation or correlation.
@Tonkawa Bill start a thread and let us see those. Joined in 2005 and only 12 messages...wow, super lurker!
