Picked these 2 up in the junk silver pile for 7 bucks a piece. The 1920 looks to have been dipped or buffed,,possibly both,,,but it filled a hole. The other looks to be a 1918D,,,maybe even a 1919D. Maybe one day someone will come up with a way to reveal the worn dates off of silver coins. I couldn't pass them up for 14 bucks though. Grades/Opinions? What do you think the worn off date is?
Nice finds, the Redbook lists the 1920 in Fine for $30. Of course the trick is to get someone to pay you that for it. The other coin also appears to be fine(ish) but without the date, it's hard to put a value to it. The dates really wore off fast on many of the early SLQs before they recessed the date in 1925. I agree the 1920 has been dipped, but for seven bucks apiece, you can't go wrong.
Tough to tell from those photos. I'd say there's a 50% chance it's an eight, and a 50% chance it's a nine!
don't quote me but it looks like a nine. used photo shop and sharpened it a few times :smile. ima keep on sharpening it though. just to see if it helps out.
