I just bought an 1919 S ANACS MS62 Standing Liberty Quarter and noticed that the "E" in "E Pluribus Unum" is majorly doubled. I couldn't find any info on CONECA or anywhere else. Anyone know anything about it or have any thoughts or opinions? I know errors in this series are quite rare. Is this a one of a kind or a known variety.

Better photos of the P.U.P. are necessary if you'd like my to give an honest opinion.

There have been some great articles in the last 5-6 Errorscopes which is free if you belong to CONECA.. Get a better shot of the area in question.

Not that I noticed. As far as I know just the E is effected.

okay, at best, and most likely:

grease fell into the die letter, then dropped out and was then struck there.

    Definitely not a DDR.

    Called a dropped letter.

The secondary E is raised and not struck into the coin. If it was a dropped letter wouldn't it be sunken in rather then raised?
