I think I was robbed by NGC on this one. Give me your best guess.

That coin has 2 problems. First off, it is toned. My limited knowledge says that it is NT, but as finicky as the TPG's have been, I would not bet they agree.

The second problem is that obverse rim from 9:00 to 2:00. It would not surprise me that would keep it from being graded, but it will at least knock down that grade.

My guess is that it has <50% chance of being graded. If it does, maybe a 63. With that rim, that is just a SWAG.

Is that coin a Verdi-Gone recovery?

If it slabbed, I'd guess AU 55.

All your angled pictures make the coins look lacquered but I doubt that is the case so I'll go 63 rb.

I'm going to sit back and just see what this one is, abstain.

Maybe send it into NGC, and they might bump it a few grades, or at least give it a star, who knows?

p.s. the angled photos do nothing to help grading of the coin, by the way, they hide the coins' luster and surfaces. Please try posting straight-on photos to aid in our grading.

As I can what appears to be a slight amount of wear on the obverse on the chin and right of lincoln's ear. The reverse looks to have a slight amount of wear on the right wheat lines near the top. I think this is an AU58.

I'll risk all credibility here, in public.

I guess that you were expecting a 64-RB and did not get it, you got a no grade.

RLM, what makes you think this is a Verdi coin? That is twice today. it is not, I can say that confidently. I need to give you a comp so you can see for yourself what it actually does.

I have stopped sending in raw copper, toned that is. They are brutal these days.

My guess. Questionable color or altered surfaces.

Look at that rim. It seriously looks corroded to me, or at least once was.

RLM, you have a good eye for these coins, but are you sure the angled photos isn't fooling you?

Dick has an eye. This guy can spot upgrades a mile away.

i am not so sure that the angled pics makes it easy for us to judge a coin. Angled pics only make it more difficult.

Thanks for the compliment, but I spotted that on the straight on pic. It is obvious to me and find it strange that you are having problems seeing it.
