1918-D Walking Liberty Half - Bad Picture Guess The Grade

    This one looked good with the scans. Should be here next week.


    What do you think? It's impossible to see any luster on the coin, but there's a lot of meat on the bone.

    This coin looks to me like a high AU . . . likely a 58.

    I think the same thing you do. I've seen a lot of coins with a surface that looks like that in-hand -- ugly gray and dusty. But if it looks like that from a flatbed scan, I think there's a very good chance that there is plenty of luster left.

    Good find -- can't wait to see photos!

    AU. There appears to be good feathers on the leg. Nice coin.

    Somewhere between XF-45 and AU-55. Better photos will help.

    Nice one. I think there is a very strong possibility that it will grade AU-58.
    The pictures were taken with a scanner, which tends to make coins look worse than they actually are.
