I found this nickel this morning with the date area smooth as a babies bottom. In a few minutes the date jumped out. Some of you don't like this, but no matter what you say, this is still a 1918 D and it looks good. When I got it there was a stain on the date where someone tried nik-a-date. The stain is gone.
Bravo.... I used to amuse myself soaking no-date buffalos in vinegar and peroxide to bring up a date. I don't care what you do to them. They are still worth a nickel!
I am addicted to coin collecting and searching. I can't do it anymore because of my age and the fact that there is very little trade that involves change of coins. My bank makes sure I get about $400 worth of nickels each week. They have been wrapped at a Federal bank. The $100 boxes are very heavy and the bank keeps several on hand. So, I have a lot of chances for nickels without dates.
