1917 and 1943 penny

    The 1917 looks like a Doubled-Die Obverse with the shape of the 9, the 1943 seems to be missing the 4, thoughts?

    with circulated coins like these, it is difficult to tell what exactly happened. I would say, that it is likely either struck through grease, or PMD, but either way, not very valuable.

    1917 - almost a 100 year old coin. Circulation wear. Date probably took a hit.

    1943 - Have seen plenty of these weak 4 or in some cases missing 4. Struck through grease effect.

    Agree with @mikenoodle & @paddyman98 Here's a sample of a 1943 struck thru.
    Sorry about the slab. It's scratch up pretty bad! No, really bad!!
