I have a double date stamped 1917/1918 buffalo nickel I found while working at McDonalds a few years back. Someone payed for there lunch with it. The only issue that is wrong with it is the fact that someone drilled a small hole above the Indian head in the front of it. How much does this detract from the value of the coin? To me it looks like its in rather mint condition. Any Guesses fill free to email me your answer at with the subject buffalo nickel. Thanks Warneke98. Please use the PM function for any messages
Please post good photos of the coin. If possible also post a closeup of the date. If genuine your coin could be quite valuable in spite of the damage (hole). For the record, it would be termed a 1918/7, not 1917/18.
sorry about the quality had to use my camera phone as I cannot locate my other camera. Without authenticating the date how badly would that hole deminish its value?
