Howdy;:welcome: well since I have posted the 1935 Buffalo Nickel DDR I just couldn't wait to post this 1916 Buffalo Nickel which in my opinion exhibits some doubling. I know for a fact that it is not the 1916 DDO #1 so my question is , is this some new discovery or what do you see all experts help me figure this one out. There is clearly doubling of the eyelid, face, chin, neck, braid, feathers, date and the bow their is also either an extra bottom lip under the primary lips could be a die clash this is a mystery to me ????? Peace;:hail: "Sharing is Caring" Remember
MD – most evident on the neck, not only flat shelf like, but the bottom image doesn’t follow the exact same shape as the top image – classic MD from loose machinery.
I would have to say I disagree with your opinion of this being MD for the reason that their is clearly separation on the date check out the last 6 upper sheriff split now scan the whole date . Also what you see as flat and shelf like is not so this 1916 has volume with doubled image ( Eyelids, date, feathers,):yes: Thanx for the input tho
Based on these pic.. I say MD as well. but you have the coin in hand and based on the fact that your a self proclaimed Double Die King. I say you must be seeing something that we don't see in the pictures.
The 6 does look odd, but that doubling down the front of the face is MD (push doubling). The Lincoln shown on the link below is very similar. http://error-ref.com/push-doubling.html
Thanx for all the opinions and input on this 1916 Buffalo !!! :thumb: Although I haven't figured this one out it would be nice to have a new Die in the 1916 family . What confuses me is the fact that the last 6 in the date has a extra sheriff and other elements of doubling on this particular 1916 example .
you guys are crazy!!!! Sheriff:too-funny::too-funny::too-funny::too-funny::too-funny::too-funny::too-funny::too-funny::too-funny:
Kingie: Nope, not close. But, to make you happy: YES! It is it a DDO! Unique, and the only one known. A future hall of fame find! [To everyone else: nope, it ain't.]
