Ok, I did a little homework on this coin (thanks krispy)......... Im still confused.....

A couple of websites said its worth about $10-15 and another couple of sites keep talking about a 1916 Australian "Mule" half penny thats worth $18,000!

Now I know, chances are its no where near 18 grand (would be nice) what I want to know is what they are talking about.... Is it worth the .50 cents I paid for it? I'll attatch a couple of pics.

    Please help me,

    Thank you so much

This is a outdated catalog, but have a look at page 95 for KM #22 in this 2008 edition of Standard Catalog of World Coins.

The Proof is noted as the coin worth big money. Again, noting this is dated, this catalog shows $1 - $14 "guide book" prices for this coin in lower grades.

I'd say you are not out anything and that .50¢ is worth the price to learn about a coin you are interested in.

    Thanks,

It was in a large tub of coins that were pre 1960. I spent about an hour digging through them, I really like the coin. Like I told you Krispy, My uncle recently passed, and my way to honor him was to continue his collection. When he enlisted in 40' they stationed him Sidney Australia....So thats where alot of his coins came from. So when I saw this in the bin, i snatched it. Shoot, for .50 cents, how could I go wrong.

Thanks for the links Im about to look at them right now.

For .50 I would have bought it too. I have some given to me for free but they are cleaned >(

I love my coin shop. The guy will always give you a good deal.... He had a half dime (Forgot the date) for $6! He trusts the people so much, he left me alone going through Barber Quarters while he went outside to talk to the UPS guy...

He is always willing to cut you a deal. If I had about $100, I could come out with some unblievable coins. Ive been in there 3 times and he will cont. to get my business. Since Im a rookie at this, all the other dealer and shops are trying to take advantage.

Next friday I'm heading back over there and hopefully I can add to the collection.

Cant thank ya'll enough on your opinions.
