    What is it worth?

I have the suspicion that it might be fake because of some deviations from some pictures in a VERY BIG BOOK about coins.

Found it on e-bay, last bit was on about 166 Euro! And on some other site: $250-300....

Is the coin about 20mm wide, and just under 3.5 grams? If so it may be a gold Austrian Ducat of those dimensions listed as KM#2267 in the Krause Standard Catalog of World Coins.

The bid is waaaaaaaaaay over the catalog value of the 1915 dated version, which is designated as a "restrike" worth about $57, a 10% premium over its bullion value as gold. Even the regular circulation coins of earlier years are not listed in Krause at anywhere near the bid price.

Austria is, of course, well known for its restrikes - the silver 1780 Maria Theresa Thaler is still being churned out today with the original date.

Welcome to the forum JJAAKKOOBB. I agree with Roy that it is probably a Austrian 1 ducat restrike. There is a 4 ducat restrike that sells for around $210.00-$240.00 but it is slightly different.

Depending on the grade, prices of the earlier ducat coins can go up to 160-180 euro here (with 1872, 1906, 1907 in BU being the most expensive ones). But as you wrote, that does certainly not apply to the "1915" restrikes ...
