Please check out this scam(just my opinion) http://cgi.ebay.com/1914-D-LINCOLN-...ryZ39456QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem altered 1944 D correct also has a 1908 s indian that i think is added mm, but not sure.
lol.. LOL!!! as the other guy on the auction mentioned... they forgot to remove the VDB off the shoulder!
With what the seller added to the auction page days ago I don't see this as a scam. The image of the 1908-S is of little help with the mint mark. I don't like the coin but it looks real to me.
This one looks like an altered 1944-D to me. You can almost see the 4 that has been removed, and I think there is a VDB below Lincoln.
Well, I think he is trying to give you that "not sure...maybe you'll get a steal" feeling in an attempt to sucker someone into buying it. He says he does not allow returns in the same sentence. Someone who is not confident enough in their product to stand behind it should be avoided.
The designer's initials - VDB - were removed from the reverse of the Lincoln Cent mid-way through 1909 and were restored in 1918 when they were added to the truncation of Lincoln's bust. If a 1914-D Lincoln has VDB on Lincoln's bust it cannot be genuine and is almost certainly an altered 1944-D.
I'm definitely no expert, but anyone can plainly see how big of a gap there is between the 9 and "1". I can't believe it's up to $82
This coin no doubt has an altered date. The mintmark isnt even the same as the "D" on a genuine 1914-D cent. A genuine 1914-D cent has the shape of a triangle inside the "D". See the following: http://www.oicoins.com/index_files/Page629.htm
