1913 quarter eagle to grade

    I'd say 63, but I suspect PCGS said 64 - way too many hairlines for a 65.

    Thank you both for being so nice to my coin.:kewl: I bought it on ebay for $266 in a PCGS AU-58 slab. I now have 7 certified AU indian quarter eagles, and this one is by far the best in terms of detail, luster, and eye appeal.

    Yeah, I don't see any wear, but GD is right about the hairlines. Maybe there are enough of them to hold it back from a full MS grade, but it's pretty darn close. I am terrible at grading these though, so I'm content to buy one with MS-64 eye appeal in an AU-58 slab since they look almost the same to me.

    I said MS63 when I saw it, really is quite nice Johnny!
    So are you planning to keep it in that slab? Or try and send it in for an upgrade?
