What would be a good bid for this nickel? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if I would call it an MS67....looks like the 1 in 19 is barely visible. with 16 minutes to go...the biggest question is DO YOU WANT IT CAN YOU AFFORD IT.

if the answer is yes to both questions....I wish you luck. If you answer no to either question, I'd say hold off

lol I'm guessing he doesn't want to give up his buying ID...
I'd say that coin is closer to MS65...but still it ended pretty low. It appears that whoever won it may have gotten a pretty good deal.

Yep, somebody got a heck of a deal, that is one of the nicest 1913 nickels I have seen "raw" the revese strike is just astounding with detail rarely seen on this series because of weak strikes... I wish I had seen it sooner, I would have bid ( I have dealt with this seller before and was always impressed with what I received)...

What grade would you give it dak?

MS65 at minimum (I am always a little skeptical when I see photos, and often undergrade the buffs) Photos are better than nothing, but it can't compare to an in hand examination, from my past dealing with this seller, I know he is honest and most of what he sells is high quality and so far has been dead on in my opinion of his grading of raw coins. So from the photos MS65 at least, I could very easily see this as a slider to MS66, ...While the pictures support his grade of a MS67, without seeing it in person, I'm too cautious to jump on that bandwagon and I think it might be pushing it a bit...But because of my past experience with this seller, I would be eager to see it in person! Just my opinion.

Ebay auction # 320116085137 ... Check out this auction on ebay for a PCGS MS67, for a honest shot at a MS67... I think the price paid for the 1913 above was a heck of a deal...

It was a good deal: "Winning bid: US $83.05 "
Heck, I would have paid that much!
I hope that you got it, jwevansv.

No, I didn't bit on it. I just didn't have enough information to make a comfortable decision. I too was concerned about the high grade. It didn't look that high to me. Whoever won it it looks like got a great deal IMO. I wanted a high grade Buff to start my MS collection with. I have to keep looking I suppose.

It's a nice coin and in an NGC holder, but I personally think that it is struck fairly weakly. It looks a little mushy.

The first coin was very sharp and hammered. Without it in hand, its tough to grade, but I would be comfortable calling it a nice 65....possibly higher.

I had the same thought, but to grade MS67 especially by a company like NGC, I figured it must be a poor picture... But you are right, it does look weak!
