Both have some surface issues, but look to have details around XF 40 (the first may be higher grade, technically, but the weak strike holds it back).
I don't know about the first. I would guess that it has been cleaned. If not, it may be AU but weakly struck. Either way, it is badly corroded. The second one does not appear to have much for issues. It is XF and looks to be a 45 to me.
I dont think it was cleaned, most of these coins came out of an 1920's childs piggy bank, they locked type.
YOu know, looking at the first coin again, I'll bet that's an AU details coin with a very weak strike. You guys can call me crazy (woudln't be the first time ), but I think I see some mellowed red and luster on that one.... Sherri, Can you confirm? Also, are you using a scanner (as I suspect)? Thanks...Mike
Yes Leadfoot I am using a scanner I keep everything as normal as possible and yes there is nice luster on the coin mostly at the edges, its a good looking coin.
