I recently sent in my “1911” $5 Indian to NGC only to find out it was in fact a 1911 S Weak S. That got me browsing a little bit, and I came across this 1912 $5 Indian. I can’t find any examples of the 1912 S Weak S. Does this look like it could be one? The NGC Variety Explorer is kind of useless, they use the same weak S for all of the pictures on the $5 Indian.
It's not a duck, it is the center area of a nude female center on the navel and move eyes upward. Obvious to anatomy instructors of many years. Been there Seen that! Jim
The shape of the circled figure doesn't well-resemble an edge of the S mintmark typical of this issue. It's also higher and a bit to the left of the location where I'd expect to find it on a 1912.
Haha! I couldn’t see my 1911 S, but I didn’t exactly search it out. Just wanted to get some opinions!
