If I was interested in selling this coin would this be a place I can do that or should I send it to be graded first?
It is possible that you could sell it here, but you would need to meet the "minimum post" requirement, first, before you list it in one of the Buy/Sell/Trade forums. I don't think it would be worth it to submit it for grading, but maybe you should wait for someone to chime in who is more experienced with this series. Chris
In better condition it would go for $10-$20. As it is a good date. (1911-S) But in this condition I agree with the $3-$5 value. There is a lot of circulation wear and some possible scrape damage on the reverse as well as staining. Grading would cost 10 times what this coin is worth.
Seems like maybe you recently ran into a collection. I recommend buying the "A Guide Book of United States Coins" it's the red book of coins. It will give you an idea of grade of coin and the coin value.
NGC currently lists 1911-S VG8/$6.50...F12/$15.00. Keep in mind this reflects certified issues and their populations. Gives an idea of approx. value, though. ngccoin.com ...Spark
NGC is usually very high, and their prices are retail for graded coins. As a raw coin closer to $3 in G-04 less than $5 in VG-08 less than $10 in F-12. I see it as a VG details.
You've met the minimum posts to list in the for sale forum but at best I think they coin is $5.00 and with shipping costs it's not worth it in my opinion. You can still try, you never know. Certainly not worth grading costs.
I agree with you. For sale forum? Really you can post stuff in here? Wow that's pretty cool thanks for the tip. I might try it but I also don't wanna look like a fool. I been wrong a few times now
As long as you learn from your mistakes and don't repeat them it worthwhile. Just go to Forums, scroll down to Advertising and there it is.
