Wrong style designers initials, period to close to the "D" Deep valley "N" in UNITED. What other issues do you see with this one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/224929181480?hash=item345ed2ef28:g:aWUAAOSwKiJiUY7X
Yea, I think the patina (green corrosion) is real and that's why I think this phony has been around longer than any I've seen thus far, its vintage in its own rights.
The beard on the bearded wheat looks like it has bubble gum in it. Come to think of it, so does Lincoln's.
I always look at the "B" in "VDB". On all that are known to be real it seems to me that the middle horizontal stroke on the "B" slants down to the left. It doesn't on this coin so I'm firmly with the "fake" group.
Awe, you found another way to fool those in wonderland grasshopper. Go now seek another way to kung-fuse them. Yes Master!
This is why I wouldn't buy a prized coin like it, without it being graded and in a slab from a reputable TPG.
Still, you have to be VERY careful with this coin, its King of the Lincolns for more than one reason, its the most counterfeited of all US Coins while the 16-D Dime holds a close second position. Here is an example coin of what I'm talking about, look closely at the encasement? (This is not a currently listed coin, I included it for conversation purpose only)
Interesting slab. The series and coin numbers stopped in Nov 2005, they didn't start using holders that would let you see the edge until 2007, and even then they used three prongs not four and they were much wider not narrow as on NGC slabs.
