they wouldn't grade it, not in a million years. They could easily spot this counterfeit. Don't waste your time, money and heart ache when they body bag it.
Am I missing something or what???!!! Are you joking or do you believe that the coin is a counterfeit? If the latter, then please explain?? I can see nothing about the coin that would make me believe that it is a counterfeit! In fact, I believe that it is a MS-65RD and bet that the lighting used in the pictures, gives the coin the deep hue of Red. Frank
Frank is completely correct. This coin is not a counterfeit. It's a very nice example of a 1909 VDB that is MS and full red. I would very much like to hear why you think this coin is a counterfeit.
What???? These are tough to get into 65-RD+ holders, but I see nothing stopping it short of color, which we cannot tell due to the pics
hehe, no gonna go PCGS, i'll try and get some more pics up or some scans in a couple weeks. I'm on vacation right now but will do it when i get back. Also this was bought from a reputable dealer and i know it is not counterfeit at all.
No, it's not. It's 100% authentic...I don't know why anyone would seriously think otherwise. I personally don't think it's worth sending to PCGS. I would throw it in an intercept shield holder and enjoy it...but it's totally your choice. But, it is not a counterfeit.
I'll say MS-66, I won't comment on the color, as it is impossible in my opinion to accuratly attribute the color by the pics, lol. Nice coin!! Phoenix
Sorry but I don't understand your sarcasm. Please if you don't have anything useful don't post. This isn't the first time I've seen you act like a fool. As for the penny, I think it's super nice 66-Red for sure.
If your being serious Isaiah, then what do you see with this coin that makes you think it's a counterfeit?
On these early, well struck dates: What can keep a coin back is #1 lack of blazing red mint luster. Luster RULES on these coins. #2: ANY hits on the shoulder area, including roll stacking marks. Also look for ANY hits on the " One Cent " or any legend area of the reverse. They like CLEAN lettering and awesome fields. #3: Devise hits, such as on the face or wheats will kill the grade. #4: Remember this: The smaller the coin, the more it will be scrutinized. To get a 65 or better, you'll need a BLAZING lusterous coin with minimal distractions. These VDB's are a dime a dozen in 65RD. Only the price is high, the rarity is not. Still a nice clean 65RD is a coin to behold, and will run in the $100/$150 range raw, up thru and past $200 when slabbed.
You can clearly see that there is a Pinkish hue on the 2x2 which is probably reflection from something Red in the background and this Red reflection is affecting the actual color of the coin. Considering this, I would bet that in hand, the coin is clearly a solid (but normal Cent color) Red in color with loads of Mint Luster! Frank
to me, the facial details kill the chances of authenticity. Compare the photos below, the chin, beard, and nose are the biggest give aways.
