I found this 1909vdb in a bank roll today. To me, the coin looks in pretty good shape for a 1909. Details on it are clear. My question is, would it hurt to place the coin in acetone to help clean up (or stop) the corrosion on the reverse or just leave it alone and do nothing?
The acetone would not hurt it, but I also seriously doubt that it would help it. It's an awesome find for a bank roll search, but still not very expensive given the grade, so I'd go for it and see what you get.
