?

Are there any indications of errors or doubling on this coin?

This 1909 VDB Lincoln Penny shows a black rectangular gash mark under the "N" in Cent on the reverse of the coin. Does this indicate that the coin itself was damaged before struck? Does the date show any slight indication of being restruck? There is no visible dot after "V" in V.D.B. Did the dot just wear from age? Thanks for any helpful advice. I am new to coin collecting. 1.jpg

The missing dot after the "V" could have been caused by Dirt/Grease in the die as the coin was struck.

The mark by the N in CENT is damage. You can see displaced metal.
