Very nice find man!! :thumb: That's an excellent find IMHO, I guess someone got their coin collection or something mixed up with their change. I say it's AU-53ish? Very nice find man, congrats. :thumb:

Well, now that I stuffed my bird and it's in the oven (no wisecracks! :D), I'll say this is a lovely sight, i.e., real super, Ruben. Funny how most all of these come to us in such good shape, too. I mean, this one ain't too shabby, itself...real nice. :thumb:

With the ecomomy the way it is there are reasons to finding old coins in change. Many people that have had a jar, can, box, etc of old coins laying around are now spending them. Many house robberies are for coins and the crooks just spend them. Keep watching your change.

Very nice! I had one in 4th grade and I spent it on a bag of chips. I actually had the whole wheat penny collection in a booklet and brought it to a little store in Kingman, AZ. I wont be doing that again!

soomehow doubt people are breaking into a penny collection to buy dinner. At face it would take 300 coins for a tuna sandwitch or a can of soup.

I just posted a thread with my 1909S VDB which I found in circulation as a child. It was what got me interested in coins so long ago. Your 1909 is certainly in great condition -- much better than mine. But don't you think that finding these "gems" in circulation is one of the most exciting parts of the hobby?! You can can buy slabbed coins as much as you want, but when you find something in special in your loose change, it's like magic. At least it is to me. :)

Just Carl may be right about people digging out the change, I have noticed more 40's and 50's wheats, and a whole lot of 60"s in the rolls I have been getting from the banks.

Well, for my way of thinking this 1909 VDB is not the more intersting than those quarters I found.

Nice find Ruben , probably some kid looking at his dad's collection as a means of a candy bar , at least that's what I did once to go to a carnival .

In the past couple of months I have gotten a 1909 VDB, but with a ding on Abe, and another that looked like it was suffering the worst from 99 years of circulation in roll searches.
