I was looking for a nice 1909 VDB and got this cent from a seller who didn't notice the DDO. Starting price was $.99, someone bid around $5, also unknowingly, so I got it for about $5.5 plus relatively expensive shipping. Funny thing, seller's lable on this coin when I got it said AU58 and $18. I guess it is neither. I already got another coin for my collection since I`d like to sell this one. I`m not really into DDOs or other mint errors/varieties. Problem is, I`m not sure what should this cent sell for. According to eBay, this is an at least $65 coin. I can't say much more than this because I see prices all over the place, mostly these are sold slabbed. Could someone advice on realistic price for raw 1909 VDB DDO-1 in this condition? Obverse got marks/lines which are hardly visible in hand. Reverse looks great, just a few small marks. In case someone wants to buy it and send for slabbing, do you think its in gradable condition?
I know its been a weekend, but not even one reply? Is it a common/unpopular DDO, something of no interest?
Well over the weekend I went to the closest actual coin shop in the area there were a few VDB's priced between 50.00 and 75.00 dollars.
Any ideas regarding grading of this cent? As in, gradable (actual digits) or not (genuine/details/damaged etc.)?
I'm guessing with all the scratches on the obverse field it'd get a details grade. Otherwise a nice looking Lincoln. As far as value, I can't help you there.
Well what are looking to get for it? EDIT: discussion leading to B/S/T can only be started on the advertising forums.
