Lincoln experts.....I was looking for some opinions on this coin. Is this a true 1909 Matte Proof Lincoln? If so, how would you grade it? Sorry about the small pictures, it was the best I could do from just getting the pics online.

    Thanks for any input guys!

Judging from the pictures it is hard to tell. The rims should be squared just like a proof of today. The details will be much sharper than a regular strike. This coin looks sharp and quite possibly is a matte proof. I have a book that has the die markers of the proof strike your looking for. If I get some time later I will look it up for you. Thanks Tom

While I wouldn't rule out the possibility, the obverse strike looks too weak centrally (look at the ear and beard) for this coin to be a MPL...Mike

I'm 99% certain it is not a matte proof lincoln, but without better pictures I can't be certain. The detail looks just a tad too weak, and the rims do not seem squared off and sharp enough.

Yeah, those were the only pictures that I had access to, so I was unsure about the coin.

There should be strong squared rims, I don't see them in this picture.
