1908S Barber half dollar

    hey everyone, I just stated collecting and bought this coin and was wondering the vaule, if you think it is really fine grade and if you think it has ever been cleaned. thanks for all the help.

    Howdy and welcome. The coin is a VG8 in my opinion and has not been cleaned.

    It is not Fine, it is VG8. It doesn't look cleaned.

    It's a high good or low VG , fine used to be defined as a full liberty , this one maybe has one letter . Still a nice original coin.

    thanks a lot guys. another question on a side note is how much does rim damage effect a coins value

    Rim damage depeds upon what type of damage and the severity.

    this coin that I bought has rim damage but im not sure how that effects it value

    That's pretty severe rim damage , so it would probably get a details grade by a tpg . A detailed coin can lose more than 50% of it's value again depending on the severity .
