I can see a couple of diamonds, so it's in the EF range. Nicer than most of my indians. post in open forum is you want to sell, there are probably some interested collectors here, including me.
Very nice coin! I would put the coin in VF30 range and I do I agree with Mark. The surfaces seem a little off, but it could very well be the angle and lighting of the pictures. Still a nice coin.
I think the coin appears to have been cleaned but it could be original. Really hard to tell by the pictures. The reverse looks extremely nice but I don't like the lighter spot in the right field on the obverse. Probably a very old and very light cleaning. Solid VF + in grade though.
The toning looks a bit uneven as if the coin was cleaned and then artificially toned, or something along that line. Had the chocolate brown color been even across the coin, I would be inclined to say VERY nice coin, but I must agree with Mark, there is something that just looks "off".
what are the chances theres a 9 over 8 variety for that year? theres something off with the 9 also, I think Im leaning towards cleaned
It's not the "color fluctuations" so much as it is the unnatural looking sheen of the surfaces, that lead me to suspect the coin has been cleaned.
