Was wondering if you'd care to offer a grade opinion on this 1908 No Motto St. Gaudens. The lighting is a little bright but you get the idea. :)

Nice looking coin. Not real baggy, crisp detail. MS 62? 63?

Taking a close look at the coin, I see a lot of tick marks on the rim's, ray's and the fields. I can see some general wear on the devices. I am by no means a professional, but I would call it a MS60-61 at best. Nice coin you have there!

Looks like a solid 62 to me Bone ;)

If the coin has ANY wear, I don't think it should be called an MS coin.

    Bone,
That coin looks mighty clean (mark-free) for a double eagle. It's hard to tell how much wear there is due to the brightness, but I could see it being anywhere from a 62-65 market grade. Nice coin either way!

I really can't grade but at least a MS60 minimum. I think the coin is beautiful.

What is the fair price range for a 1907 or 1908 in that type of grade? because that is about the what I am looking for for my Indian gold type set.

Cleaned of course (now, that we got that out of the way)
I will assume that the brightness isn't hiding any cleaning, but it looks unc to me.

    So, 61-62.

Thnks all for taking a look. A member of the Black Hills Coin Club who collects this series also gave it a MS-62.
