I have a 1907 indian cent that actually says 1007 on the date. What would cause this and what could it be worth?

Welcome to CT. Show us pics please. One reason could be a grease filled die at the '9'.

Pics help a little but they're just too dark and blurry to really make out what's going on with that supposed 9.

I don't know what to tell you about the darkness but you can see very clearly it's two zeros. Try zooming in it works great.

I see a 9, if you hold a magnifying glass about a inch away from your camera and take the picture through it that may help.

Someone (or something) altered the date.

One thing's for sure; It's definitely no 1004-year-old coin. ;)
