If you are liking it, I second cerdsalicious' motion. With it's being in a small white ANACS holder, I would guess it's graded 65RB, but it's a BN now. Still, it's an attractive coin!
It's more than likely in an older small white ANACS slab... bottom of image actually says it's an ANACS
Even though you can see mint red peeking through the toning, I think there's too much brown for it to be a RB. But that opinion is based strictly upon your image. Cameras and lighting can make things look different. An in-hand analysis is required.
It's slabbed by ANACS. MS65BN Snow 10. The seller claims there's some red and orange showing. There's also supposed to be a lint? strike through which I haven't seen yet. Bruce
Not unusual for there to be mint red showing through on a BN coin, even in the AU grades and once in a while in XF too.
No, it's worth $80 and you would not get that from any dealer but No, it's worth $80 and you would not get that from any dealer but if you really love it well?
Check Heritage closed auctions for that coin at that grade. Then decide if it is worth it or not. No offense to others - but to me a lot of the brown coins should have the premium versus the red coins. To me the right BN coin might deserve a few extra bucks, especially if they have some of the fiery red hidden in the brown recesses. With the small pictures I can not tell if it looks like a good solid 65 strike, but you can decide that. Just my humble opinion.
If its in your heart and soul that this coin is worth the money then buy it.. Some coins that I buy at certain prices other people wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, and vice-versa...
There's a 7 day return policy that I'd take advantage of if the coin wasn't as I perceived in the photos. Usually I'll return a coin that has been misrepresented (was a grade or 2 lower than claimed). I'll grade this coin for myself when I get it in hand. Bruce
I'm still likin' it now The coin came in better than the photos. There's plenty of irridescent reds, oranges, greens and blues. I like this coin more now that I see it in hand. There is an issue on the reverse that was described as a strike-though lint, but to me it looks like a die crack because it is raised not incuse, as I'd think a lint strike-thru would be. It passes through the lower part of the C in CENT and extends down to a laurel leaf where it stops. The older green ANACS slab is in pristene condition. All in all, I really do like this coin and will try to get some photos up soon. Maybe some QX5 close ups too. Thanks for looking and, as always, thanks for commenting. Bruce
I tell ya some of these brown coins with the right toning are down right nice and worth a premium in my opinion. Can't wait to see bigger pictures.
