I was a little iffy about that. The coin dealer is cool though, i can always return it for "store credit" which would be fine w/ me. I wanted ya'lls opnions about it first though.

The obverse is scratched up pretty good.

Which makes me think it was harshly cleaned.

I would agree with you on that. Looks fairly harsh too. Nice coin though. I wish I had one as nice as that.

the more I looked at it the less I liked it. The lighting in the coin shop was rather poor, and I was kinda in a hurry. I only had a small 10x loupe with me and its hard to observe the entire coin with it. Once I got it home and viewed the coin as a whole, with good lighting and a large 4x loupe, the hairlines were rather obvious. My coin dealer is really an awesome guy and had no problem returning it with a full cash refund. As a show of good business, i ended up spending all the cash on a few misc. coins to fill some danscos.

Thank you guys for all your quick responses! :thumb:

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with the others and say that it was harshly cleaned.

I agree with the others. There isn't enough luster for a coin that bright aside from the hairlines
