I might buy a 1907 2 1/2 lib. that was on a chain or something like that. It has the remains of soldier on the top of it. How do I remove it, or can it be removed with out ruining it. It is a ms grade of coin in my opinion the dealer wants $295 for it, what do you think?

The coin cannot be repaired. It is a damaged coin. (If it was a super rare coin you could probably find someone that could repair it but that would not be cheap.) The dealer is asking $130 above melt value. What he is asking is Grey Sheet AU. You should be able to find a better, undamaged example for the same price.
